THE PROJECT

Le Tour de Moi

My bicycle journey around Europe began
long before the first pedal stroke.

Behind this expedition spanning thousands of kilometres lies a much deeper story.
Before crossing Europe, I first had to rebuild myself.
Because some journeys begin long before departure.

THE WHY

Why this project?

For a long time, I lived with severe obesity that put my health at risk.

After so many setbacks, I had come to believe that I simply lacked willpower.

But the problem ran much deeper.

One day, my doctor told me that my life expectancy was severely reduced.

If nothing changed, I was unlikely ever to reach the age of 50.

Those words marked a turning point.

I understood that I could no longer simply try to lose weight.

I had to rebuild my life.

That is how Le Tour de Moi was born.

Why this project - Le Tour de Moi
“I did not set out to tour Europe; I set out to save my life.”
THE JOURNEY

Three steps to reclaim my life

The journey is not the starting point. It is the final step in work that began long before it.

Step 1: Rebuild myself
Step 1

Rebuild myself

For years, food had become the way I managed my emotions.

Stress.
Loneliness.
Injury.
Setbacks.

Eating had become a refuge.

In August 2023, I began psychological support.

Little by little, I understood that I could never change my body for good without learning to understand what was happening in my mind.

Today, I am convinced that this step is the project’s true starting point.

  • Nearly 3 years of support
  • Hundreds of hours of reflection
  • Thousands of invisible small victories
“My emotions used to be the problem. Today, they have become the solution.”
Step 2: Prepare the expedition
Step 2

Prepare the expedition

Once the foundations had been rebuilt, I had to prepare for the most ambitious challenge of my life.

This preparation quickly became a project in its own right.

For months, I designed, built, improved and tested a cargo bike that could become my home for more than a year.

At the same time, I returned to regular physical activity.

Every kilometre I travelled rebuilt a little more of the confidence I had lost.

This preparation was physical, mental and practical all at once.

  • Physical preparation
  • Mental preparation
  • Practical preparation
“Without sport, I might have lost weight. But I would never have built the confidence I am building today.”

Step 3: Take to the road
Step 3

Take to the road

After several years of work, the time to set off finally arrived.

This departure erases neither doubts, nor difficulties, nor vulnerabilities.

It simply marks the passage from preparation into real life.

Le Tour de Moi is not about breaking a record.

It aims to show that it is possible to keep moving, even when the road seems too long, too difficult or too uncertain.

Kilometre after kilometre, this adventure will be made of landscapes, but above all of encounters.

Fatigue.
Emotion.
Personal growth.
Resilience.

Because deep down, this story will probably be as much about the people I meet as the bicycle that allows me to reach them.

WHAT NOW

What now?

Le Tour de Moi is not only a journey around Europe.
It is the continuation of work that began nearly three years earlier.
This is a personal adventure.
But if, through this journey, some people find the desire to believe in themselves again, then every kilometre will have had meaning.

“Many will see a man touring Europe. I see, above all, someone travelling around himself.”
